Develop Your Drupal Skills with Northern
Taught by Northern Commerce's Certified Drupal Developers, students will learn the basics of developing enterprise-level digital experiences with the Drupal 9 open-source content management system. This program provides an industry-standard, hands-on learning opportunity that will give students a leg up in their future careers and help them to gain employment upon graduation. Even if a student’s end goal is not to be a web developer, combining this course with their diplomas will make them eligible for a wide variety of roles in the web industry, such as: freelancers, themers, content managers and web marketing, DevOps, project managers, and/or account managers.
What You Will Learn
Students will gain an introduction to the Drupal content management system, including site building in Drupal 9, layouts, theming, and module development. Drupal gives its users an incredibly powerful and flexible toolkit. You can build a site that is interactive, integrated, and infinitely customizable, all without writing a line of code. Discover what you are capable of when you build with Drupal.
- Foundations: Lay the groundwork with content modelling, user roles and permissions, AODA compliance, and basic site performance enhancements.
- Site Building: Create complex views, manage fields and entities, and integrate contributed modules into your new development project.
- Layout & Theming: Learn the fundamentals of theming in Drupal, create base themes and subthemes, and create flexible page templates using Twig.
