The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) was established in 2016 by the Wisconsin Legislature to carry out a wide range of functions related to statewide elections administration.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission aimed to transform how its organization was perceived and experienced, to serve as a resource for local clerks by providing them with education, training, and support materials. The new digital experience required updated content and a responsive, mobile-first design to encourage voters, clerks, and those inquiring about elections in Wisconsin.
The team at Northern developed a customized and refreshed approach to build an exceptional user experience for local clerks and members of the voting public. Northern recognized the importance of vital data being transferred and preserved. Northern successfully migrated data from WEC’s existing Drupal website to the refreshed version developed by Northern.
Since site security was critical, the team selected Acquia for its best-in-class reputation. Northern integrated Acquia Site Studio and used it to provide landing pages for several different audiences and use cases. In addition, users can now experience rapid load times across all devices thanks to Acquia's powerful and responsive solutions.
To aid the WEC in navigating its digital transformation, Northern produced several new assets and design features. Northern ensured every consumer touchpoint was user-friendly and delivered a compelling visual experience.
