For Immediate Release:

LONDON, ON – February 9, 2018 — London Lightning sponsor Northern Commerce has announced the Sunday, February 11 game will be in support of the London Humane Society. This is Northern’s fourth consecutive season sponsoring the London Lightning, and their second year supporting the London Humane Society through Northern Cares.

The London Humane Society provides temporary shelter for unwanted or cruelly treated animals and facilitates the adoption of these animals to welcoming new families. The organization operates solely through donations and receives no government funding.

“London Humane Society is very grateful for the ongoing support of London Lightning and Northern,” says Sheila Harrison, Director of Operations at the London Humane Society. “As a non-profit, charitable organization that receives no government funding, we would not have the ability to provide loving care and shelter to 1,500 surrendered, neglected and mistreated pets each year without the generosity and dedication of our community.”

The London Humane Society will be selling 50/50 tickets at this Sunday’s game against the KW Titans.

Supporting the London Human Society is one of the many charity initiatives of Northern Cares—a platform for Northern’s corporate philanthropy.

“Our goal with Northern Cares is to provide support to the amazing charities in London,” says Michael DeLorenzi, President and CEO of Northern. “The Humane Society does wonderful work in our community, and we are happy to help their fundraising efforts so they can continue to make an impact.”

Tickets for this Sunday’s game can be purchased online or at the Budweiser Gardens box office.

Doors open at 1 p.m., tip-off is at 2 p.m.
